Constantin Rotaru, chairman of the Socialist Party of Romania, and other speakers said that Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the WPK was of great significance in cementing the Party and building socialism and that the WPK guides all the people to victory under the direction of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, who glorifies the party-building idea and exploits of the preceding leaders.

Vasile Lacatus, secretary general of the Romania-Korea Friendship Association, said that Oct. 8, 1997 when Kim Jong Il was elected as general secretary of the WPK has been recorded on a brilliant page in the history of the Korean people's struggle for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of the leader through generations.

The chairman of the Anti-Imperialist Forum of Germany said that Kim Jong Il is the great leader who guided wisely the party to consolidate the DPRK into a socialist fortress and carried forward the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung.

He wished the WPK led by Kim Jong Un bigger success in further strengthening the socialist system and realizing the country's reunification as soon as possible.

A message of greeting to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the event in Bulgaria.
