Present there were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Vice-Chairman and Director General of the General Affairs Department Pae Jin Gu, Director of the Department for Publicity and Culture Kim Song Hun, officials of the KNS, chairmen of Chongryon headquarters in Kanto area and leading officials of Chongryon organizations and businesses.

Introduced was a congratulatory message from the Korean Central News Agency.

Ho Jong Man in a congratulatory speech said that the KNS has creditably conducted news services and performed its mission as an overseas news service body of Juche Korea since its foundation.

He expressed conviction that journalists, editors and officials of the KNS would dynamically conduct news services for the prosperity of the socialist homeland and peaceful reunification in the future, too.

KNS Director General Choe Hong said in his report that the KNS could successfully conduct the news services for the last seven decades in an alien land thanks to the guidance and love of the peerlessly great men.

He stressed the need to conduct more initiative and active news services for accelerating the patriotic advance to bring about a new heyday in the movement of Koreans in Japan, true to the congratulatory messages to Chongryon sent by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un on the occasions of the 24th Congress of Chongryon and the 70th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was read out at the meeting.

On the same day, there was a reception for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the KNS.
