Rodong Sinmun Blasts Hostile Forces' Campaign against DPRK

Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Japan and EU seek to cook up the "resolution on human rights in north Korea" again with a view to bringing it to the UN General Assembly. In this regard, Rodong Sinmun comments Tuesday that this is a product of the criminal plot to tarnish the image of the dignified DPRK and stifle its inviolable socialist system and a revelation of the deep-rooted evil practice of confrontation. The commentary goes on: The anti-DPRK smear campaign of Japan and EU is designed to intensify the sanctions and pressure on the DPRK and prevent the trend of dialogue and peace on the Korean peninsula under the pretext of "human rights issue". Frankly speaking, there exists such human rights issue in Western countries plagued with widespread misanthropy and abnormal lifestyle. This being a hard reality, their pulling up the DPRK is absurd. It is an intolerable mockery and insult to justice and human rights that Japan, a brazen-faced human rights abuser, is recklessly taking the lead in the campaign against the DPRK, talking about someone's non-existent "human rights issue". Japan still refuses to apologize for the unspeakable crimes against the Korean nation and other Asian countries and brutally suppresses Korean residents in Japan. What should not be overlooked is that it is heard from south Korea that "it will positively participate in shaping the "resolution" and "it will not abstain from voting". If south Korea values the north-south relations and the climate for dialogue and peace prevailing in the Korean peninsula, it should stop playing to the tune of foreign forces but behave itself with its own views in conformity with the desire of the fellow countrymen for national reconciliation and unity, peace and reunification. |
