Wreaths Laid before Friendship Tower
Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the Friendship Tower here on Thursday, the 68th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Ri Chang Gun, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Army Lieutenant General Kang Sun Nam, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, Ri Kil Song, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Pak Kyong Il, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and chairman of the DPRK-China Friendship Association, officials concerned and working citizens.

Li Jinjun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy, the delegation of Chinese youth cadres and other Chinese guests staying here, Chinese students and Chinese residents in the DPRK were on hand.

Placed at the tower was a wreath in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee, the SPA Presidium and the Cabinet of the DPRK.

Also laid were wreaths in the names of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of People's Security, the Ministry of External Economic Relations, the Ministry of Culture, the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, the DPRK-China Friendship Association, the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, the Pyongyang City People's Committee, the Chinese embassy, the delegation of Chinese youth cadres and others.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) who bravely fought on the Korean front, and looked round the tower.

On the same day, wreaths were laid at the cemeteries and graves of the CPV martyrs in Hyongjesan District of Pyongyang City, Kaesong City and Hoechang County and Anju City of South Phyongan Province.
