CPV Martyrs Cemetery Remodeled
Pyongyang, October 26 (KCNA) -- Graves of the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers located in Kangdong County and Sunan District of Pyongyang have been remodeled into the Martyrs Cemetery on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the CPV's entry into the Korean front.

A relevant ceremony took place at the remodeled cemetery in Kangdong County on Thursday.

Present there were Choe Song Chol, vice-minister of Urban Management, officials concerned, working people in Kangdong County, Ambassador Li Jinjun and officials of the Chinese embassy here, Chinese guests staying here including the delegation of Chinese youth cadres, Chinese students studying here, Chinese residents in the DPRK and Korean residents in China.

Wreaths in the names of the Ministry of Urban Management, the Pyongyang City People's Committee, the Chinese embassy here, the delegation of Chinese youth cadres and the General Association of Koreans in China were laid at the cemetery.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the CPV martyrs who bravely fought on the Korean front, displaying the matchless self-sacrificing spirit.

Speeches were made at the ceremony.

Ambassador Li Jinjun said the CPV beat back the imperialist aggression together with the Korean army and people under the banner of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland 68 years ago, and thus preserved peace and stability of the region and the world.

He expressed the will to continue to strive to steadily carry forward and develop the bilateral friendship which has opened up a new chapter under the deep care of General Secretary Xi Jinping and Chairman Kim Jong Un.

Vice-Minister Choe Song Chol said the ceremony reflects the fixed will of the top leaders of the two countries to more firmly carry forward and develop the traditions of the DPRK-China friendship.

The exploits performed by the CPV martyrs on this land will shine as a symbol of the DPRK-China friendship in history along with the souls of the Korean revolutionaries on the vast land of China, he added.

After the ceremony the participants saw round the cemetery.
