In a recent statement, she welcomed the affirmative events witnessed on the Korean peninsula in the wake of the historic inter-Korean summits and the Singapore DPRK-U.S. summit, and appreciated that the north and the south of Korea are promoting the reconciliation and understanding of each other.

The IPU has directed a lot of efforts to the contacts between the north and the south and such effort will continue in the future, too, she said.
