"Agricultural Service Unit", Criminal Organization of Japanese Imperialism
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Before the liberation of Korea the Japanese imperialists indiscriminately took away a number of young and middle-aged Korean people to Japan and compelled them to do subhuman slavery labor.

This is clearly proved through the "Agricultural Service Unit", a criminal organization of Japanese imperialism.

The "Agricultural Service Unit" was a production unit organized by the Imperial Japanese Ground Force for the purpose of producing grain insufficient in Japan.

Due to a huge consumption of human and material resources by the aggressive war and its escalation, Japanese militarism took away numbers of Korean youths to its proper under the pretext of "conscription". And it attached them to the "Agricultural Service Unit" and overdrove them to the slaveries like cropland clearing.

In spring of 1945 alone, it took away young Korean people in almost areas of Korea including North and South Phyongan, Hwanghae, South Hamgyong, North and South Chungchong and Kangwon provinces.

According to victims, recruiting members for the service unit assumed a forcible character and the "National Mobilization Law" was applied to them.

Recollecting the then situation, victims said the days at the service unit were a succession of the hellish life following inhuman violence and maltreatment.

The above-said facts clearly prove that the Japanese imperialists fabricated many criminal organizations under various pretexts and forced innocent young and middle-aged Koreans into untold misfortune and suffering and that their criminal forced labor reached not only factories and construction sites but also the agricultural field.
