At the negotiations, both sides stressed that the strategic and traditional DPRK-Russia relations are further strengthening in conformity with the common interests and demand of the new era with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties as a momentum.

They agreed to further accelerate the development of the bilateral relations and boost mutual cooperation so as to positively contribute to peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and the region next year marking the 70th anniversary of the DPRK-Russia agreement on economic and cultural cooperation.

Earlier, the DPRK Foreign Ministry delegation attended the celebrations of the bicentenary of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
