According to Kang Sun Nam, department director of the Ministry of Local Industry, the high-yielding strain can bear 1.5 times more fruits than the previous one.

Kangwon Province has taken the lead in the transformation work. 300 hectares in Kumgang County, 140 hectares in Anbyon County and 110 hectares in Wonsan City were transformed with high-yielding strain.

In North Phyongan Province, Unjon County improved 400 hectares of Evodia daniellii forest in three months by introducing diverse grafting methods, while Jongju City carried out its transformation plan at 111 percent.

In South Phyongan Province, Pukchang County converted more than 220 hectares of Evodia daniellii forest into high-yielding forest by introducing cleft grafting into 500-600 trees on an average every day.

Similar successes were also made in Rinsan County of North Hwanghae Province and Tanchon City and Jongphyong County of South Hamgyong Province.
