Bar Body Applies for Retrial in S. Korea

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The Bar Association for Democratic Society of south Korea applied for a retrial for a victim of the evil law, who was severely tortured during the past dictatorial regime, on Nov. 6, according to Yonhap News of south Korea. The victim, who was a university student in August 1972, said "Long Live Kim Il Sung!" in a quiet tone when walking alone. The police arrested him, and tortured him to force him to make a false statement. As a result, he was convicted of violation of the "anti-communist law" and "security law" in 1973. The organization applied for a retrial for him, saying that the victim was arrested without an arrest warrant and that he was severely tortured in the course of investigation. |
