Iron producers across the country have dynamically pushed ahead with the work to increase the production of Juche iron and raise the quality of steel, while improving the technical indices of the oxygen heat blast furnace and introducing the electromagnetic induction agitation technology into continuous ingoting process.

The Chollima Steel Complex has laid the foundation for normalizing the production of seamless steel pipe by applying the high temperature air combustion technology to heating furnace of seamless steel pipe.

The Hungsan, Jaeryong and other mines have also hastened the project for the expansion of the capacity of graphite production and the establishment of the siderite magnetizing roasting process in order to supply enough graphite and concentrate badly needed to Juche iron production.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex has speeded up the construction of concentrate drainage ground necessary for normal operation of the oxygen heat blast furnace, while the Puryong Ferroalloy Factory completed the construction of ferromanganese furnace.
