Progress Made in Construction of Tanchon Power Station
Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- The construction of the Tanchon Power Station is progressing apace in the DPRK, amid the brisk drive for increased production to attain the goals of the five-year strategy for national economic development.

Builders from various units accomplished their assignments for digging working pits with a total length of nearly 40 000 meters in a little more than one year since the beginning of the construction. After getting down to the project for main waterway tunnel, they have excavated pilot tunnels of over 21 000 meters in total as of now.

Soldier-builders and the Taehung Guidance Bureau Brigade successfully drove through pilot tunnels for the main waterway in ten-odd kilometers-long section.

The Rason City Brigade carried out the excavation of pilot tunnel at 98 percent by simultaneously pushing forward the construction of intake tower and the project for excavating and widening pilot tunnel for main waterway.
