Nikolai Polishk, chairman of the Ukrainian "Treasured Sword of Songun" Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events praising Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career and exploits on the occasion of the anniversary of his demise.
