The Center for Peace and Disarmament of the Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society in a commentary on Nov.13 claimed a sharp cut in the expenses for the upkeep of the U.S. forces.

The organization denounced the U.S. for forcing south Korea to heavily expand its share before the negotiation for a special agreement on sharing the expenses for the upkeep of the U.S. forces.

South Korea has so far born a large amount of expenses under various pretexts apart from the upkeep of the U.S. forces, the organization said.

On the same day, the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification held a press conference as well as a rally at the Kwanghwamun Plaza of Seoul and slashed at the U.S. demand for increased expenses for the upkeep of the U.S. forces.
