Celebrations for IMGC to Be Held in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, the Executive Board of the International Martial Art Games Committee (IMGC) decided to hold celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the IMGC in Pyongyang in 2019. The celebrations will include a joint gathering, a photo exhibition and demonstrations of martial arts. The IMGC was founded on September 2, 1999 on the initiative of Choe Hong Hui, ex-president of the International Taekwon-Do Federation. It consists of 14 international martial arts organizations, including the ITF, World Muay Federation, World Karate Confederation, World Jiu-Jitsu Confederation, World Judo Federation, International Jendo Federation, World Pangration Athlima Federation, International Federation of Taichichen Association and World Federation of KOWAT ALRAMI and Self Defense. At the recent meeting its Executive Board discussed the issue of selecting the venue for the 8th International Martial Art Games and deliberated and approved the entry of the World Pahuyuth Federation and national martial art games committees of 26 countries to the IMGC. According to it, Nepal was selected as the venue for the 8th International Martial Art Games to be held in December 2019. The DPRK sponsored the International Martial Art Games twice, while Thailand, Estonia, Australia, India and Belarus sponsored once. |
