Mayambala Lawrence, chairman of the Ugandan National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events including remembrance meeting, seminar and lecture praising Chairman Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career and exploits on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of his demise.
