Its group of researchers has recently manufactured a carbon-dioxide laser processor badly needed for modernizing the truck production processes. This helps improve the quality of trucks by introducing the laser welding technique to the auto industry and establish the precision welding technique for all machine parts.

This technique was applied to establishing a laser welding process for gear of 5-ton class trucks at the Sungri Motor Complex.

The group also developed a laser three-dimensional shape measuring device to closely measure profiles of water turbine blades of different sizes and shapes and enhance their efficiency.
