Atul Kumar Anjan, secretary of the National Council of the Communist Party of India and chairman of the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee set a remembrance period from November 19 to December 17 and decided to organize political and cultural events including a remembrance meeting, seminar, lecture and photo exhibition praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il.
