Present there were Chairman Son Hyong Gun and Honorary Chairperson An Pyong Ok of the regional committee, So Chung On, director of the department for international affairs and reunification of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and Ri Tong Je, chairman of the Association of Koreans in Japan for Peaceful Reunification, who are vice-chairmen of the regional committee, and members of the regional committee delegation which had taken part in the meeting for national reunification marking the 11th anniversary of the October 4 declaration, Chongryon officials and other Koreans in Kanto area.

Chairman Son Hyong Gun made a speech to be followed by a report on the activities of the delegation of the regional committee. And others took the floor.

The reporter and speakers said the meeting for national reunification served as an occasion in expanding and intensifying All-Korean Committee for Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration, an organization for solidarity movement of the north, the south and abroad, as required by the reunification movement at a new phase, and in renewing the will to powerfully accelerate the cause of national reunification.

An immediate working orientation was made public for revving up the atmosphere of national reunification in the compatriots community by dynamically conducting agitation activities to inspire a broad spectrum of Koreans to the implementation of the Panmunjom declaration and the Pyongyang joint declaration, and for organizing an event marking the 100th anniversary of the March 1 Popular Uprising.

The participants watched a video on the 5th north-south summit.
