Vital Balla, chairman of the Congolese Association for Friendship among Peoples, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee set a remembrance period from November 20 to December 17 and decided to hold political and cultural events to praise the revolutionary career and exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il in the period.
