Contained in the hot spring, a natural monument of the country, are such rich mineral matters as bromine, iodine and radon. It has 24-26 grams of mineral matters in total per liter, the largest amount among the hot springs in the country.

The temperature of the hot spring with slight alkalinity is 48-53 degrees centigrade.

This hot spring is efficacious for hypertension, arthritis without tuberculosis, neuralgia, lumbar pain, aftereffects of injuries and operation, chronic gastritis, chronic colitis, and skin disease.

Thanks to the loving care of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, who took a step to spruce up the hot spring area, the Ryonggang Hot Spring Sanatorium was built last year to provide special treatment services to visitors.

The hot spring is one of the main tourist resorts in the country.

It has been visited by a large number of overseas Koreans and foreigners.
