Presented to the event, divided into five panels including scientific farming and veterinary science and animal husbandry, were more than 120 scientific and technological proposals and at least 700 exhibits of more than 250 kinds helpful to putting agricultural production on a scientific and modern basis and improving domestic animal breeding and cultivating technique and veterinary and anti-epizootic work.

An agricultural scientific idea presentation reflecting valuable successes made in developing the country's agriculture will take place during the event.

An opening ceremony was held at the Pyongyang Vegetable Science Institute under the Academy of Agricultural Science on Tuesday.

Present at the ceremony were Pak Thae Dok, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ko In Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet and concurrently minister of Agriculture, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, officials, scientists, technicians, teachers and graduate students of the agricultural and scientific and educational organs.

The event continues until Nov. 30.
