Being born into a peasant family in Suan County, North Hwanghae Province before the liberation of the country, she keenly experienced the grief of being a member of the stateless nation, maltreated and humiliated under the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule.

She dedicated herself to agricultural production with the desire to pay the loving care of President Kim Il Sung who liberated the country and put her forward as the owner of land and master of the country.

Having a balanced diet, she kept herself busy even after becoming a pensioner.
