Victor Manuel Lucas, international secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the People of Spain, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee set a remembrance period from November 20 to December 20 and decided to hold political and cultural events praising the noble revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il in the period.
