Constantin Rotaru, chairman of the Socialist Party of Romania was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee set a remembrance period from November 20 to December 17 and decided to hold political and cultural events including a seminar and remembrance meeting praising the immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il in the period.
