V. P. Isakov, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Lenin Young Communist League of the Russian Federation, and C. M. Kramarenko, chairman of the Korean War Veterans' Council of Russia, were elected chairmen of the remembrance committees.

The committees decided to hold political and cultural events including a remembrance meeting praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the 7th anniversary of his demise.
