In the area there is the Kyongsong Hot Spring Sanatorium well known for its balneotherapy.

Every year, a number of patients from different parts of the country have received hot-spring cure for arthritis, sterility, digestive troubles and other diseases at the sanatorium.

Kim Song Chol, a peasant from Thosan County, North Hwanghae Province, told KCNA that he recovered from his stomach disorder through the treatment of 40-odd days at the sanatorium by the favor of the state. And he expressed gratitude for the socialist healthcare system of the country.

The mineral bath place at the sanatorium can accommodate more than 1 000 persons a day.
