The remembrance committee, chaired by Mozgovoy, first secretary of the C.C., Communist Party of the Soviet Union and chairman of the International Social Federation "For the Union and Union's Communist Party", is made up of personages of such political parties and organizations as the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, the Communist Workers Party of Russia, the Communist Workers' Party of Belarus, the Communist Party of Azerbaijan and the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK.

The committee decided to hold political and cultural events in praise of the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il.
