Torsten Schoevitz, chairman of the German Communist Party, and the chairman of the Anti-Imperialist Forum of Germany, were elected chairmen of the remembrance committees.

The committees decided to hold political and cultural events praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of his demise.
