Kong Sam Ol, deputy prime minister for Royal Palace, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee on the instructions of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni.

The committee set a remembrance period from Dec. 1 to 20 and decided to give wide publicity to Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career and exploits through media and hold political and cultural events in the period.
