Amalia Alexandr, international secretary of the Angolan Women's Organization, was elected chairwoman of the remembrance committee.

The committee set a remembrance period from December 5 to 18 and decided to organize political and cultural events to praise the exploits performed by Kim Jong Il for the Korean revolution and the cause of global independence and to express support and solidarity with the Korean people who have gained consecutive successes in socialist construction in the period.
