Chairman Kim Jong Il Remembered in Different Countries

Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- Events took place in various countries from Nov. 19 to 26 to commemorate the 7th anniversary of demise of Chairman Kim Jong Il. They included seminars, remembrance meetings, lectures, book exhibitions and film shows in the Czech Republic, Ethiopia, Uganda and Thailand. Korean films "The Tower of the Juche Idea" and "My Country Has Emerged Victorious by Dint of Single-minded Unity" were shown. Jozef Servista, deputy general secretary of the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Communist Party who doubles as chairman of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association and chairman of the Czech Group for the Study and Materialization of the Juche Idea, said as follows: Great Comrade Kim Jong Il lives forever in the hearts of progressive mankind for his outstanding feats for the socialist construction in the DPRK and Korea's reunification and the cause of global independence cause. He developed and enriched the Juche idea founded by Comrade Kim Il Sung as required by the times and firmly defended Korean socialism by smashing with the unique Songun politics the moves of the imperialists to isolate and stifle the DPRK. Abdi Kedir, chairman of the Ethiopian Committee for the Study of the Independent Politics, said in a remembrance meeting that Kim Jong Il scientifically proved the validity of socialism and inevitability of its victory by publishing "Socialism Is a Science" and other works, and invariably maintained the principles of independence in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliance in defence. The participants in a lecture held in Uganda praised Kim Jong Il for making a great contribution to the development of the idea of mankind through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities. Songchit Pullarp, chairman of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand, stressed that Kim Jong Il devoted all his life to the country's prosperity and people's happiness. |
