It was attended by Fumihiro Himori, chairman of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, and delegates and personages of solidarity organizations from Hokkaido, Nagano, Fukushima, Gunma, Kyoto and others.

Also present there were Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), So Chung On, director of its Department for International Affairs and Reunification, and Koreans in Japan.

Hirokazu Kitakawa, deputy general secretary of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, gave a keynote address, to be followed by speeches under the theme "Toward a new arena for peace and reunification."

An appeal for more dynamically conducting a campaign for repairing the DPRK-Japan relations was adopted there.
