Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- The metal industry field of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has provided the material and technical foundations for establishing the Juche-based iron production system based on locally available fuel and raw materials this year. According to an official concerned, one of the admirable successes made this year marking the 70th birthday of the DPRK is the completion of the Juche-based projects at the country's leading iron producers. The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex set up a Juche-based iron-making process in reliance on indigenous fuel and raw materials. It built an oxygen heat blast furnace and a fluid-bed gas generator and restored oxygen separators, in close cooperation with experts from Kim Chaek University of Technology, Chongjin University of Mining and Metallurgy, the State Academy of Sciences and other units. The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex completed the Juche-based projects for oxygen converter and separator, while applying valuable research findings like technology of producing micro-alloyed steel. The Chollima Steel Complex introduced a technology of high-temperature air-combustion into heating furnace for seamless steel pipe production and established a wire-rod rolling process. Meanwhile, the Hungnam Electrode Factory succeeded in the production of electrodes with domestic raw materials by putting the production of bonding agent on a Juche basis. A letter of thanks of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea was sent to Kim Chaek and Hwanghae iron and steel complexes for their signal achievements. |
