Scores of Construction Projects Hastened in Pyongyang City

Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- Major construction and reconstruction projects have been hastened in Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, this year, true to the intention of the Worker's Party of Korea to give steady continuity to the great heyday of construction. The construction of the Mirim Tilery, which produces Korean-style tiles, was completed and the reconstruction of buildings and modernization of equipment and production processes were carried out at various industrial establishments including foodstuff and kimchi factories in districts and counties. The construction of low- and one-storied houses for several hundred families and 10-odd public and production buildings were completed and more than 440 hectares of land rearranged in areas surrounding Pyongyang International Airport. The Rangnang Museum consisting of 10-odd buildings and outdoor facilities was built in Rangnang District. The Pyongyang Railway Station Department Store was spruced up and Pyongyang College of Technology on Building-materials took its shape on the bank of the River Pothong. Besides, a big progress was made in such projects as construction of sports facilities in the East Pyongyang area, lodging quarters for sportspersons and Taesongsan Spring Water Factory and remodeling of the Pyongyang Pharmaceutical Factory and the Pyongyang Electronic Medical Appliances Factory. |
