Victor Petrov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK and chairman of the Russian Committee to Praise the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events including remembrance meeting on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the demise of Kim Jong Il.
