Japan Urged to Liquidate Its Past
Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, there took place at the Berlin-Neukoeln Court a trial of a war criminal who was a squad leader of the SS Guards at a concentration camp during the Second World War.

More than seven decades have passed since the defeat of Nazis Germany, but Germany keeps on pursuit and punishment of those involved in massacres and it was reported that trials of 24 criminals are under way for their service at several camps and several other criminals are indicted to be put under investigation.

Minju Joson Wednesday says in a commentary that this reminds the people of the truth of history that the statute of limitations is inapplicable to hideous crimes against humanity and criminals get the punishment they deserve.

The commentary goes on:

Germany has liquidated its past with sincerity, but Japan has refused it by all means.

Japan's impudent behavior proves that it has not guilty conscience about the blood-stained history of crimes, but is on fire with the wild ambition to repeat the past invasion of other countries and nations.

In the final analysis, Germany is raising its position in the wake of the recognition by the international community, whereas Japan remains a target of the international denunciation as a political dwarf.

The liquidation of the past is not a duty of which Japan can get rid by denying the past. The judgment by history is not the one from which Japan can flee.

There is no statute of limitations applicable to hideous crimes against humanity.

Japan should bear in mind that there is no rosy future as long as it refuses to liquidate the past.
