In his revolutionary career he made 1 647 rounds of train journey, covering more than 398 000 kilometers.

In particular, he made 424 rounds of journey for field guidance covering over 75 000 kilometers from Juche 98 (2009) to Juche 100 (2011).

He visited major industrial establishments and important units of socialist construction like the Songjin Steel Complex, the Wonsan Youth Power Station and the construction site of the Orangchon Power Station, and leading chemical factories in the eastern coastal area, thus making the flames of miracle and innovation drive rage across the country.

He even went from the eastern coastal area to Rakwon in the western coastal area, which is more than 400 kilometers away, in one night. He continued his train journey till the last moment of his life by taking short and uncomfortable sleeps and eating simple rice-balls.

The Korean people are remembering Kim Jong Il's long journey of devotion and performing great feats to implement his behests.
