U.S. Urged to Implement June 12 Singapore Joint Statement
Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- A joint statement signed by 71 organizations of overseas compatriots in the U.S. and Canada and Europe, Asia and Oceanic region, 59 prominent U.S. figures and 81 civic and public organizations for peace and civil rights was made public on Dec. 6, according to the south Korean internet paper Jaju Sibo.

The statement fully supported the Panmunjom Declaration, "September Pyongyang Joint Declaration" and the June 12 Singapore Joint Statement.

It said that the agreements made at the north-south summit meetings and DPRK-U.S. summit meeting serve as a foundation for preventing the danger of war and building a permanent and durable peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean Peninsula.

It urged the U.S. to take such concrete actions for improved DPRK-U.S. relations as lifting sanctions against the north and deleting it from the list of "state sponsor of terrorism".
