Visit Paid to Anti-Japanese War Heroine Kim Jong Suk's Birthplace in Hoeryong
Hoeryong, December 24 (KCNA) -- Officials and members of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea from across the country visited the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk's birthplace in Hoeryong on Monday, her 101st birth anniversary.

The visitors laid a floral basket and bouquets before her statue at the foot of Osan Hill and paid tribute to it.

At her old home at the foot of Osan Hill, the visitors saw the historic mementoes preserved there, being told that Kim Jong Suk, born into a patriotic and revolutionary family when the Korean nation was suffering from hardships, grew up to be a revolutionary.

At the Hoeryong Revolutionary Museum, they grasped the career of Kim Jong Suk who made a great contribution to building a new country and the revolutionary armed forces and developing the women's movement and provided the origin to carrying forward the revolutionary cause of Juche.

That day they also toured Kim Ki Song Hoeryong Senior Middle School and the Hoeryong Schoolchildren's Palace visited by Chairman Kim Jong Il.
