Present there on invitation were Ri Su Yong, member of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ho Yong Bok, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Pang In Chol, vice-minister of Public Health, and officials concerned.

Syrian Ambassador to the DPRK Tammam Sulaiman and his embassy officials were on hand.

Speeches were made there.

The Syrian ambassador in his speech said that Syria and the DPRK would defend the dignity and happiness of their peoples, steadily standing in the van of the independent countries of the world.

Ri Su Yong said it is the fixed stand of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK to ceaselessly boost the traditional friendly and cooperative ties between the DPRK and Syria.

He expressed the belief that the Syrian people would achieve a final victory in their struggle for smashing invasion and interference of the hostile forces and rebuilding the country under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad.
