A modern loach pedigree ground was recently built at the Youth Tudan Breed Fish Farm in Pyongyang.

The ground, with a plottage of one thousand and several hundreds of square meters, will produce millions of fries of loach a year.

In this regard, Pak Jin Myong, manager of the farm, told KCNA:

The circular-shaped ground has fry water tanks in its center and hatching water tanks around them.

It is arranged with control room, mixing water tank, filtering and machine room, switchboard room and other accessory buildings.

It is also fully equipped with hi-tech facilities for automatically measuring and controlling water temperature, oxygen content in water and other ecological environment indices suited to loaches' living.

An integrated control system, a water re-circulating system, self-feeder and geothermal cooling-and-heating technology were introduced into the ground to ensure spawning and fry breeding in all seasons.
