Noting that Kim Jong Il never stepped back from the principle of independence during the period of his revolutionary leadership, the statement said:

He defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country and nation by pursuing the Songun politics.

Thanks to him, the DPRK put itself on the status of a full-fledged power.

We deem it a great honor to know a great revolutionary like him and follow his idea.

His exploits will be immortal.

Earlier, Yousfe Al Amiri, chairman of the Kuwait-DPRK Friendship Association and president of the Kuwait House of Works, released a statement on Dec. 13 on the occasions of the 7th anniversary of the demise of Kim Jong Il and the 7th anniversary of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army.

The statement highly praised the life of Kim Jong Il as the one of a peerless patriot, the noble one of devotion totally dedicated to national reconciliation, unity and reunification.
