Noodle Hash, National Food

Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Taedonggang Seafood Restaurant, which started its operation this summer, is enjoying popularity among citizens for its delicious foods. Among the foods is noodle hash with seasoned raw-sliced sturgeon, salmon and Ryongjong fish. From olden times, the Korean people have called the noodle hash food of November in the lunar calendar. Old documents of Korea introduce various noodle hashes, together with their ingredients and making methods. The facts show that the Korean people have used diverse materials in making noodle hashes suited to their local features. It is one of the manners to eat noodle hash with juice of radishes pickled in salt water and hot soup flavored with soy sauce in the northern part of the country. |
