Prevention of Industrial Disasters Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- According to south Korean online newspaper Jaju Sibo, bereaved families and families of victims of industrial disasters held a press conference in front of the entrance to the "National Assembly" on Dec. 20 in demand of the passage of the bill on preventing disasters.

A press release issued at the conference said it is deplorable that Kim Yong Gyun, part-time worker of the Thaean Thermal Power Plant, suffered a disastrous accident when doing two men's work in a dark place without lighting apparatus.

Noting that the accident was not merely the first one, the press release said that the uninterrupted death of workers is attributable to the failure in taking a proper measure for preventing disasters.

It called upon the NA to immediately pass the bill on preventing disasters, not remaining a passive onlooker to the death.

At the end of the conference, the bereaved families and families of victims conveyed a written opinion to the floor leaders of the ruling and opposition parties.
