A lot of citizens thronged Kim Il Sung Square to appreciate the performance.

The artistes and teachers from the famous art troupes like the Mansudae Art Troupe, the Phibada Opera Troupe, the National Folk Art Troupe and Kim Won Gyun University of Music made their appearances on the stage of the performance which was given divided into Part 1 and Part 2.

Put on the stage were colorful numbers including female solo "O My Motherland Full of Hope", "His Embrace Is the Best" and mixed sextet "Do Prosper, My Motherland".

The performers were highly acclaimed for their impressive artistic representation recalling the emotional days when all service personnel and people had made a dynamic advance towards the final victory of revolution, rallied close around Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

The hopeful New Year 2019 came amid fireworks displaying the last seconds of the old year in the nocturnal sky above the square.

With the resounding of the watch-night bell at 00:00 on January 1, the stirring sound of shooting fireworks rocked heaven and earth and dazzling rays of light burst into the nocturnal sky of the New Year to display a curtain of fire, wishing all the families across the country happiness and the homeland prosperity.

Drones represented letters "Happy New Year" in the sky above the square.

Mixed sextet "Happy New Year", mixed duet and pangchang "Glory of Our Life" and other numbers revved up the atmosphere of the performance.

The performance climaxed with the artistes of the Moranbong Electronic Ensemble singing songs like "Advancing Socialism", "Dash toward Future" and "Snow Is Falling on New Year's Day".

The performance ended with song "Ardent Desire" sang by the whole performers.
