Early in the morning of Tuesday, many people in the capital city of Pyongyang visited the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill to pay floral tribute to them on the occasion of the New Year.

An endless stream of visitors, including working people, schoolchildren and service personnel, were also seen at the statues of the great leaders and portraits of the smiling great leaders in Pyongyang and local areas.

The Korean people's greatest concern in the morning of New Year's Day was to hear the New Year Address made by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Streets of Pyongyang and other parts of the country are conspicuously decorated with national flags and red banners, boards bearing such letters as "A Happy New Year", beautiful flowers, balloons and other displays to add to the festive mood.

Seen there were many citizens coming and going with great hope and joy to call on their parents, relatives and teachers to offer New Year greetings.
