Pyongyang Citizens Meet
Pyongyang, January 5 (KCNA) -- There took place a Pyongyang mass rally at Kim Il Sung Square on Friday, where the participants pledged to thoroughly implement the important tasks set forth by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address.

Seen at the platform were Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, senior officials of the Party and government O Su Yong, An Jong Su, Ro Tu Chol, Choe Hwi and Pak Thae Dok, vice-premiers of the Cabinet, officials of the Party and power organs, industrial establishments and co-op farms in Pyongyang and persons of labor feats, working people, youths and students.

Kim Nung O, alternate member of the Political Bureau of C.C., WPK and chairman of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, made a report.

He said the New Year Address of the Supreme Leader serves as a militant banner indicating the path for bringing about a revolutionary upsurge on all fronts of socialist construction.

He recalled that the Supreme Leader encouraged Pyongyang City to be a model and standard-bearer of the country in the grand revolutionary advance for attaining higher goals of building a thriving country and guided its work step by step.

He called on officials, Party members and working people in the city to turn out in the drive for further increasing the might of the socialist self-supporting economy with self-reliance as a treasured sword for prosperity.

He underlined the need to strive for the prosperity and development of the socialist homeland under the blueprint unfolded by the Supreme Leader in his New Year Address, rallied closer around the great Party.

Then resolution speeches were made.

They said that all the people turned out as one in the general advance for devotedly carrying out the important tasks advanced by the Supreme Leader in his New Year Address with greater confidence and ambition.

The participants marched past the square in procession at the end of the rally.
