Reparations from Japanese War Criminal Business Demanded

Pyongyang, January 8 (KCNA) -- Civic organizations and lawyers of south Korea and Japan said that they would launch into a solidarity campaign to secure reparations from Japanese war criminal businesses, according to KBS of south Korea on January 5. Last year the south Korean Supreme Court gave a verdict that Japanese war criminal businesses should indemnify the Korean victims of forced conscript labor. But the Japanese government and war criminal businesses including the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. are denying the south Korean Supreme Court's judgment, saying "the issue concerned was completely and finally settled by the 1965 'south Korea-Japan agreement'" and "every possible step will be taken against the judgment" and terming it "unreasonable judgment that upsets the legal foundation of the friendly and cooperative relations." Worse still, the right-wing "Active Conservative Movement" and conservative gangsters in Japan are kicking up a fuss in the middle of Tokyo, waving the flags of "rising sun shedding rays", terming the judgment a "violation of international law" and crying out for "shielding the Japanese businesses." Civic organizations and lawyers of south Korea and Japan held a meeting in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture of Japan and decided to launch into a solidarity campaign after forming an organization for securing reparations from the Japanese war criminal businesses. |
