Jozef Servista, chairman of the Paektusan Czech-Korea Friendship Association who is deputy general secretary of the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Communist Party and chairman of the Czech Group for the Study and Materialization of the Juche Idea, was elected as chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize colorful political and cultural events such as a seminar and film show to praise the revolutionary careers and exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and the personality of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un as the heaven-sent great man on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star.
